About Iranian pistachio!

Pistachio is one of the hot saturated fruits that has its own customers all over the world. Iranian pistachio is in the first place in the world in quality and taste and other countries are in the next ranks. The most important reason for the quality of Iranian pistachios is the altitude of the Iranian pistachio region above sea level.

The United States ranks first in pistachio production, Iran ranks second, and Turkey ranks third in world pistachio production. It is interesting to know that more than 90 species of pistachios are produced in Iran, some of which are widely and commercially cultivated and some of which are scattered and limited. Koleghoochi, Akbari, Ahmad Aghaei and Hazelnut pistachios are the main pistachio cultivars in Iran. Different cultivars of pistachios have differences in terms of flowering time and they can be divided into three categories: early flowering, medium flowering and late flowering. Flowering time of different cultivars is affected by environmental conditions, including the climate of the region, nutrition, fertilization, irrigation and soil texture.
